The Fletchers Company, as one of the five ‘Warrior’ Livery companies has always been proud of its affiliations with military units, both Regular and Reserve as well as cadets. We have also been sponsors of various RFCA (Reserve Forces and Cadet Association) initiatives.
HMS DEFENDER.
HMS DEFENDER is a type 45 (Daring class) destroyer. She is the fifth of the Navy's six state-of-the-art Type 45 destroyers. She is the current successor to a long line of Fletcher affiliations with RN ships which previously included HMS ARROW and HMS SHEFFIELD.
Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
The Fletchers have a long association with the Fusiliers whose Regimental Headquarters at the Tower of London recognises a link with the Tower stretching back over 400 years.
RAF Northolt
Rather than a single squadron, the Fletchers’ are pleased to be affiliated with RAF station, Northolt. An operational aerodrome since March 1915, it has been a base for military operations for over 100 years.
Army Cadets - Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Cadets
The Fletchers are also associated with 135 RRF Detachment of the Army Cadet Force, who on occasion have provided a Carpet Guard at some of our events.
RAF Cadets - 1921 (Lewisham) Squadron ATC
The Fletchers have been closely associated with 1921 (Lewisham) Squadron of the Air Training Corps since early 2008. The cadets regularly support Fletchers events by providing formal guards for livery dinners.
