Six Fletchers took part in the Lord Mayors show on Saturday 11th November. The Master, Consort, Clerk, Liveryman Graham Potts, Liveryman Ian Burpitt and Liveryman Carl Schiess. After robing at the hall and with us all wearing the new Fletchers Tartan scarves we set off for breakfast at the Ironmongers Hall. This provided the opportunity to enjoy a good breakfast in the company of other livery members before we were given our briefing and took our position to start the show. Once the Marshalls had checked all our walkers where at our float form-up position we started the walk from London Wall with the other senior Livery Companies . As we walked along the route, the Masters idea of carrying arrows certainly helped with people recognising the Fletchers Trade and before long we had reached the Carmen's Hall for lunch. A cold buffet lunch with vine was enjoyed by all before we stepped outside the hall to wait for the Lord Mayor to pass with a rousing three cheers given by the livery companies assembled. After lunch we walked down to Embankment where we formed up again to continue the walk. Once we had returned to the ironmongers Hall we said our goodbyes headed back to the Hall to disrobe and finished the afternoon in a local pub for a well deserved pint or two.
