HMS Defender

The Worshipful Company of Fletchers, as one of the five ‘warrior’ livery companies, has always been proud of its affiliations with the military: cadets, reserve and regular.

HMS DEFENDER was the fifth type 45 (Daring Class) destroyer to enter service in the Royal Navy, and was commissioned at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth on 21 March 2013.  It is the eighth HMS Defender.

Each year since 2011 the Fletchers have presented a member of the ship with the ‘Worshipful Company of Fletchers Prize Arrow’ for excellence in the performance of their duties.

Further information on HMS DEFENDER can be found on the Fletchers’ website.
