The Master, Hilda Gibson

Hilda Gibson was installed as Master Fletcher on 22nd April 2026. Her consort, Andrew McMillan, is a Past Master of the Fletchers and she has a daughter, Naomi, who is a research scientist.

Hilda previously served on the Fletchers’ Charity Committee as Almoner, receiving requests from archers with a disability seeking support from the Fletchers’ Trust.

Hilda’s early career focused on development of technical information systems (aircraft design, air traffic control, telephony) followed by 25 years with AstraZeneca, culminating in the role of Vice President, Global Drug Development Information Systems.

Having been active in archery for more than 50 years, Hilda is the International Relations Lead for Archery GB and a member of the World Archery Europe Executive Board. She also leads an International Partnership Programme developing Para Archery in Africa and Oceania.

Hilda held Archery roles at five Olympic/Paralympic Games including as Team GB Archery Team Leader in Beijing 2008, Archery Services Manager London 2012 and Paralympics GB Team Leader in Rio 2016. In addition, she has been part of the England Support team at Commonwealth Games since 2014.

She is an enthusiastic recreational skier, sailor and traveller.
